It took guts and wisdom for Simone Biles to step out of competition based on her own judgement of her mental and physical conditions, and not yield to others’ expectations and pressure.This is a giant step for womankind, and a remarkable step for mankind when her commercial endorser, Athleta, publicly backed her decision. Our world IS slightly better today when winning-at-all-cost no longer trumps an individual’s protection of her own health. Bravo to both!
